Advancing awareness as a measurable practice
IAD coordinates research, practice, and training that treats awareness not as a slogan, but as a construct that can be described, measured, and deliberately developed.
Origins & Focus
The Institute emerged from decades of work on Constructed Development Theory (CDT): a framework that explains how adults construct self, context, and reality in the moment, and how that construction can become more complex, flexible, and aware over time.
Rather than attaching people to static labels, CDT focuses on live construction: how you think, decide, teach, lead, and relate — in context, in real-time.
What the Institute Stewards
- The theory and measurement of Awareness Quotient (AQ).
- The measurement and application of Thinking Quotient (TQ).
- The taxonomy of Cognitive Intentions (CIs) and their combinations.
- Applied frameworks such as Dynamic Intelligence (DI), CAIR/IACR, and TQᴱ.
How We Operate
IAD operates as a hub-and-spoke network. The global hub maintains core theory, ethics, and standards, while regional hubs and partner institutes adapt CDT-informed work to local cultures, languages, and systems.
This keeps the work coherent at a global level, but alive and contextual in practice.
